The Healer
Hylantis is a very magic-rich land, the flows more easily accessible than anywhere else on Ydarra.  Mage-born children are not uncommon, those born with the Gift to cast innately, without having to study their art.  They are not as common as they once were, however.
Sometimes, however, a child will be born with the Gift of healing, the ability to spontaneously cast divine spells instead of arcane.  These people frequently find the care of others to be their calling, and either take the position of village healer, or enter the Healer's Guild in larger cities to learn about their gift, and how to better help people in need.  Guild members are frequently more focused in their abilities, while village healers have a broader yet more general range of knowledge.

Class Features:

Weapon and Armor Proficiency:
Healers are skilled with all simple weapons.  They are not proficient with any type of armor, nor with shields.  Fighting is not a focus of their life, but the healing of those in need.

Spells:
A healer casts divine spells, especially healing spells.  Like a bard or sorcerer, an adept learns spells at each new level which she has permanent access to, and can cast a certain number of spells per level per day.  However, like an AU caster, a healer may also weave two spell slots together to cast a spell one level higher, or may use a spell slot to cast two spells of one level lower.
A healer must get proper sleep each night in order to regain used spell slots.
the DC for a saving throw against a healer's spell is 10 + spell level + the healer's wis modifier
when the healer gets 0 spells of a given level, she gets only bonus spells for that level.  Bonus spells are based on Wisdom.

Healer Bonus:
A healer gains a bonus to heal checks and herbalist checks, simply due to the focused, rigorus training they go through.  This bonus increases every few levels.  A healer also gains a +?? competance bonus to any checks while a character is in their extended care (caring for a sick bedridden character.  does not apply while traveling, or if the character wanders off and comes back).
